• Exercising overall supervision of electrical and electromechanical activities in Engineering Operations, with special attention given to generator related tasks.
• Applying commonly used engineering practices and precedents in completing portions of larger projects related to the installation or repair of generators, synchronizing panels, solar farms and other related structures and facilities in the field mission.
• Participating in making and developing technical data regarding materials, quantities and costs to be incorporated into formal specifications for generator sets and electrical system requirements.
• Planning and implementing establishment of a mission wide power monitoring and reporting system.
• Participating in developing scope of work (SOW) for all electrical, and mechanical projects and undertake technical and contractor performance evaluation.
• Participating in developing the annual budget for the section.
• Performing any other duties assigned by Chief of Engineering Operations.
• Checking correct requirement of electrical loads for proper sizing of generators; assist in analyzing and correcting distortions on loads and balancing the loading on all three phases of three-phase generators.
• Recording and reporting periodically the POL (Petrol Oil and Lubricant) consumption against the generated power in KWH to ensure compliance with UN standard.
• Performing surveys and preparing technical reports, drawings and material quantities.
• Ensuring the generators are synchronized to minimize the fuel consumption per power plant.
• Ensuring all power houses are complying with UNMISS waste management and environmental policy.
• Work implies frequent interaction with the following: Chief/Supervisors of other Units, staff of the section, Local and international contractors including the contractor’s technical personnel, Civilian and Military UN personnel

Achieved Projects

• Project to set up of one power source for Bentiu Camp. I was the project lead where my roles are but not limited to the migration planning, site preparation for generators and control rooms, installation and testing, power distribution across the camp, commissioning of new plant and decommissioning of old plants.
• Design-Building of Solar Farms and Electrical Grid for UNMISS in Juba and Wau. During this period I was in charge of project activities tracking using Grantt Charter and Project automation using MS Project to monitor the progress of project. This also included record and review of documents submitted, quality control, risk management assessment and project environment impact assessment.

• Responsible for ensuring that the electromechanical equipment designed for company projects are of high technical quality and their operation within existing schemes are operating at high standards.
• In addition to this primary function of quality assurance, must also work closely with other engineers and stakeholders
• Develop and respect safety protocol of electrical equipment;
• Support the design and approval of electromechanical equipment for company projects;
• Training of end users on better use of electricity and electromechanical equipment for new industrial or building constructions;
• Assist with preparation of feasibility and design studies of project sites including collecting design information, performing design calculations, running design software, and preparing design drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, and cost estimates;
• Supervising and controlling activities of consulting engineers responsible for the preparation of feasibility and detailed design studies and improving the quality of the studies by conducting of any further detailed complementary studies and reviewing some existing studies before starting their execution;

• Supervising the line managed PHE Assistants involved in implementation of safe water supply systems in Mahama refugee camp and host community including water abstraction, treatment process, storage, quality surveillance and distribution for existing or new systems or rehabilitation in conjunction with other members of the WASH team including the public health promotion.
• Implementation of the preventive maintenance plan of the electro-mechanical systems involved in water abstraction, treatment and distribution to minimize the breakdowns
• Ensuring the timely repair of any broken electromechanical equipment to ensure availability of safe water in good quantity.
• Identification of the lacking materials, equipment and tools and requesting them in due time for the implementation of an effective O&M plan
• Supporting the Logistics Section through provision of the required technical specifications for the procurement of O&M materials, equipment and tools of good quality to perform the work appropriately as well as on establishment and implementation of the “Minimum stock and re-ordering level” to avoid stock out and obsolete stock.
